Patience?! Patience?!
What is this patience you speak of?
/on topic
I was always a big fan of Cantha and I have to agree with the OP about it not being fair. I mean Cantha didn't get anything for Halloween or Wintersday and now we only get a "dragonish weekend". Oh well I guess I better find this so called "patience" Gaile told us to get.

*c°(ò_ó<) Speak for yourself!
As long as there's something to drool about, this guy can bring up the patience!
So ... will Event Hats ever have attribute +1 modifiers, or AL, like all other headgear has? The Dragon Masks were cool, but they were no good for combat ... so, in the end, they just became a filler for storage.

They were unfortunately never meant for storage though perhaps a side effect of weekend events could be giving the masks boosts to bring them to normal headgear AL? just a thought

Make it so you can take the special hats to an armorcrafter, and apply the special hat skin to a helmet already in your possession. And then, make it so you can toggle whether the special skin is viewable, or the standard skin, much like the way you toggle whether helmets are visible in town/combat areas or not.

Well, I'm currently vanquishing through Cantha with my trusty henchies and over the course of the last week it really is becoming my favourite of the 3 campaigns again.
I seem to be in the minority of people who actually like the dank cityscape (problems navigating aside), Shing Jea is just lovely peaceful, Echovald grew on me and the Jade Sea was always a fantastic concept.
You say Cantha's been ignored, but it has had 3 unique Canthan festivals (Tengu, Dragon and New Year) whereas Nightfall has had none, it's always shared with Prophs.
Let's not forget the Shing Jea Boardwalk either, it's totally unique to Cantha and while most sane people won't 'enjoy' watching their bank balances decrease on the ring games, 'Whack a Wurm' is great fun.
Well, I'm done. Just gonna look forward to our Dragonish-themed thingy and hope I get a chance to re-fill my mesmers cellar. He's grumpy when he's sober.

I like the fact that the starter isle for factions is the fastest (in my opinion) and with that I have 6 canthans vs only 5 tyrians and 3 elonians ....(and 3 of my mules are canthan as well)....
cant make rits anywhere else!!!!

ooooo! News!
Come on Gaile don't make us suffer! Papa needs some alcoholic drink goodness!
Maybe patience means they are replacing the nine rings with a giant card game of patience! You can carry the cards are rearrange them! 10 lucky points for each card you clear!
WHERE IS THE DAMN ACE OF SPADES!!!!

What you guys are all failing to remember is WHY the Wintersday and halloween festivals did not make it to Cantha.
It all has to do with the atmosphere. Does it make a lot of sense for celebrations like this to be hugely significant in Asia? Not... really... I mean, hell, the Japanese celebrate Christmas by making Christmas Cake (I am not making that up).
Halloween and Christmas are traditions largely dominated by Western and European cultures. So that's why it made sense for them to be in Prophecies and Nightfall, but not Factions.
Seriously. ArenaNet provides this gaming environment for you at no monthly charge, which goes strongly against the typical MMORPG model because monthly fees are usually required for stability of the game... and when they don't give you free stuff, stuff that is costing YOU nothing and THEM a huge number of man-hours, you bitch and moan?
Get real, guys.

They wouldn't but that doesn't mean they can't hate Cantha.
